Using the cauls

 

You can position the cauls directly on the fingers and clamp them. This will take 8 clamps. Be sure to use a paste wax to thoroughly wax your cauls to prevent the glue from sticking. Finishing them with polyurethane would also be a good idea but use paste wax after that. When clamping up, we like to use 2 clamps on either end of the cauls.  Note in the second picture how the A and B cauls clear each other. 

Here is the box after gluing the top and slicing off the lid on the table saw. Mineral spirits were used to increase the contrast. Notice the nice tight box joint fingers!!!
